In addition to being NASCAR's top promoter, Ed Otto
was a leading spokesman and Vice President during
the organization's early years alongside Bill France.
Inducted into the NMPA Hall of Fame in 2002, Ed Otto was responsible for many landmark achievements in NASCAR's prominent history. He sanctioned more races in widespread locations from multiple divisions than any other promoter. Otto was also responsible for the first televised NASCAR event at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, 1952 on DuMont station WABD.
Legendary NASCAR icons like Richard Petty, "Cotton" Owens and Junior Johnson have all gone on record, validating the intricate importance of Ed Otto's contributions to the success of NASCAR. Now it can be unveiled to the rest of the racing community and the world by acknowledging him for acceptance into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
